Public Meeting: "the Anti-Parliamentary Tradition in Britain."

25 November · 18:30 - 21:30 Rutherford Lecture Theatre 2 - Rutherfor College - University of Kent

Is support for The Labour Party, the trade unions and voting in elections an effective way forward for the working class today?

Over 90 years ago, communists who called for workers' councils in Britain and argued against such ‘tactics’ were a target of Lenin’s infamous polemic, Left Wing Communism, An Infantile Disorder, which singled out for criticism two of their best known representatives – Sylvia Pankhurst and William Gallacher.

Mark Hayes, author of "The British Communist Left", re-visits the people, politics andarguments of that time and evaluates their relevance for today’s struggles against austerity and war.

Talk followed by discussion.

All Welcome!

  1. The Socialist Party of Great Britain will be fielding a full list of 10 candidates in the South East Region in the Euroelections on 22 May. They will be advocating a classless, stateless, moneyless world society without frontiers.
